About this Course

This course is designed to help you prepare yourself for the Cambridge English First (FCE) B2 level English exam. This is a globally recognised language exam – accepted by lots of education and work institutions around the world!

In this course I give you all the best tips, techniques and resources to effectively prepare yourself for the Speaking paper of the exam. I go through each part of this paper giving you the best advice on how to answer the questions, so hopefully it won't be necessary for you to spend lots of extra money on lessons.

There is no other course that I have found which focuses on and instructs you how to pass each section of this exam, using exam samples for practice exercises. This course allows you to concentrate specifically on what you need to do in order to pass the Speaking paper. 

The course comprises 7 video lessons with lots of useful information, tips and practice exercises. Homework exercises are given.

  • Overall Exam Structure & Speaking Paper Format and Marks  

    This video tells you:


    The Cambridge English: B2 First Certificate (FCE) B2 level exam format. 


    How many papers there are and the duration of each paper.


    To pass the exam you should be getting a minimum of 60% in each exam paper.


    What the different parts of the Speaking paper look like, including how many questions and how many marks are awarded.

    This video focusses on Part 1 of the B2 First (FCE) Speaking Paper: 'Interview'.

    It has 3 main tips for how to complete this section of the exam and gives you examples to practice using these tips.


    Homework:

    You also have a homework exercise:

    1. Write some answers to the example questions in Part 1.

    2. Think of your own Part 1 questions.

    3. Write answers to these questions.

    4. Find someone who can help you improve your answers.

  • Speaking Paper - Part 2 - Tips, Technique & Practice  

    This video focusses on Part 2 of the B2 First (FCE) Speaking Paper: 'Long Turn'.

    It has 5 main tips for how to complete this section of the exam and gives you examples and exercises showing and letting you practise using these tips.

    It has lots of really useful exam information.

    Homework

    1. Find 2 photographs.

    2. Write down a question to answer about them.

    3. Practise answering these questions, speaking continuously for 1 minute. Get a friend/teacher/family member to time you and give you feedback.

    4. Repeat homework steps 1-3.

  • Speaking Paper - Part 3 - Tips, Technique & Practice  

    This video focusses on Part 3 of the B2 First (FCE) Speaking Paper: 'Collaborative Task'.

    It has 5 main tips to follow to complete this section of the exam and gives you examples and exercises showing and letting you practise using these tips.

    Homework

    1. Design your own topic question for Part 3, with 5 prompts.

    2. Write down what you can say using OWA.

    3. Practise talking about this topic with a friend/teacher/someone you know.

    4. Repeat homework steps 1-3.

    This video focusses on Part 4 of the B2 First (FCE) Speaking Paper: 'Further Discussion'.

    It has 4 main tips to follow to complete this section of the exam and gives you examples and exercises showing and letting you practise using these tips.

    Homework

    1. Write some questions related to a Part 3 topic.

    2. Write down answers to these questions with opinions.

    3. Practise saying these answers to a friend/teacher/someone you know and get them to ask you more questions and give you feedback.
